
The Province of British Columbia, Canada is situated on the west coast of North America. The provincial flag features a stylized image of the setting sun, in gold, with blue wavy stripes above to symbolize the Pacific Ocean. The upper part of the flag is a Union Jack with a gold crown at its centre.

The Dogwood is the provincial flower of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. The government buildings housing the provincial Legislature, in the city of Victoria, feature a prominent central dome, topped by a gold statue of Captain George Vancouver.
